Who is TechLink NH?
TechLink NH, a program of WEDCO, (The Wentworth Economic Development Corporation) in Wolfeboro, NH. TechLink NH was created in 2002 as a public relations effort to "build the demand for broadband" by establishing 12 TechLink NH technology centers staffed by an Americorps*VISTA member to provide technology information and resources throughout the Lakes and Mountain regions in NH.
Over the past three years, the TechLink NH team worked with local libraries, senior centers and non-profits to expand access to technology for northern NH residents. During that time, 22 VISTA members served for at least a year and TechLink NH Centers provided tech assistance to 30,000 patrons.
Program Objectives:
- To increase the earning potential of people with low incomes by providing affordable technology education and access to the latest high-speed technology.
- Build organizational assets of non-profits and small businesses by teaching and advocating for the efficient use of technology.
- To educate and be a resource for economic development leaders regarding technology resources in NH to accelerate the digital economy of rural New Hampshire.
