Broadband is a high-capacity, high-speed, transmission channel carried on coaxial or fiber-optic cables with a wider bandwidth than conventional copper telephone lines. Broadband channels can carry video, voice, and data simultaneously.
Broadband is not dialup service (which still a third of rural NH residents are using due to no access to Broadband....)
More Bandwidth allows us to surf the web faster, download files quickly and to watch videos or play music over the Internet.
TechLink NH advocates for more Broadband services in Rural NH and Vermont. For the past few years, we've served on the Northern NH Telecomm Planning Leadership Committee and assisted with a plan for expanding affordable broadband throughout the region.
