Volunteer Opportunities
TechLink
New Hampshire seeks to increase economic opportunities for self-sufficiency
and the building of financial assets for people with lower incomes, micro-entrepreneurs,
and technologically challenged non-profits by expanding access to high-speed
technology.
Volunteering with Tech Link New Hampshire allows you
to share your expertise and build your experience in a worthwhile and
exciting endeavor. Interested?
Each of the local Technology Access Points
(TAPs) sponsored by TechLink NH are recruiting local volunteers to promote
and enhance programs at the TAPs while helping the community as a whole
have a better understanding of technology.
Who can volunteer for TechLink NH?
- Individuals interested in learning more about technology,
or individuals who know the importance of equal access to and opportunities
with technology
- Individuals who enjoy meeting and interacting with
new people
- No technical background is required for some positions,
but familiarity with computers is often helpful
What can I do?
Here is a list of possible volunteer opportunities
at the TAPs:
- Tutoring individuals one-on-one
- Assisting instructors in small computer classes
- Managing and maintaining computers at the TAP
- Creating monthly reports based on computer use
statistics
- Public Relations for TechLink NH and the individual
TAPs
- Updating the TechLink NH website information and
content
- Recruiting, supervising and managing other
volunteers
How much time will I have to commit?
This depends on the site you work at, and your individual
schedule and preferences. However much you are able to volunteer will
be appreciated, but it is most helpful to us if you can maintain a set
schedule for an extended period of time.
What’s in it for me?
- Free computer and technology training
- Awards and recognition
What do I do if I want to volunteer?
Contact the location at which you would like to volunteer
to make an appointment. You will go through an informal interview process
to determine what position is most appropriate for you.
